SSE Renewables, a renewable energy subsidiary of SSE plc, is a leading developer and operator of wind farms and hydroelectric generation across the United Kingdom and Ireland.
Problem
SSE Renewables initially came to teclan requiring three months’ worth of support in the roll out of an external communication strategy related to the proposed Achany Extension wind farm development.
Solution
The teclan PR team produced a political and community report identifying key target audiences. From there, teclan engaged with key stakeholders (such as community councils and Scottish government officials), produced and circulated articles to local media outlets and documented all relevant materials for a future Pre-Application Consultation (PAC) report.
Outcome
SSE Renewables were provided with valuable feedback from key stakeholders thanks to the roll out of teclan’s communication strategy. The company requested a three month extension of teclan’s support which included further community engagement, the creation of content for public exhibition, and the production of a project PAC Report.
