Why customer reviews and testimonials are so important.
Do you ask your customers for their feedback? Do you get in touch and ask their opinion on your products and services? Do you make it easy for them to give you this valuable information?
The best form of advertising is word of mouth!
Why? Three main reasons:
- You must listen to your customers’ feedback (good and bad) in order to improve what you do and how you do it.
- Your future customers and clients value and trust other people’s opinions and experiences of your business much more than your own marketing slogans and statements!

To be competitive and stay ahead of your rivals you must grab every opportunity to reinforce to existing and potential customers the quality and value of your products and services. What makes you better than the rest. Do this frequently using the voices and opinions of your customers who have already bought from you.
Are you asking for feedback? Are you listening to your customers?
Make it easy for customers to give their feedback. Present simple, easy to complete forms on your website. Present easy to find contact details. Engage email and social media marketing for this purpose. Ask for feedback at every available point of contact with your customer, especially after purchase/sale completion.
Then act on it. Use that feedback!
Once you have received this feedback you must acknowledge this action from the customer. They have gone to the trouble of writing/emailing/posting to your business so the least you can do is acknowledge their effort. At best you should aim to provide a suitable response, e.g. in the case of some customer criticism ensure you respond with a resolution for that customer, where reasonable.

Powerful words, yes? Would you feel reassured and comfortable paying for a product and service from the company these business owners are describing? Certainly more than a company without these positive comments I would suggest.
